Welcoming Chris Swail, Director of Infrastructure, to the Comtech Team

We are happy to announce that Chris Swail has joined Comtech in a key strategic position as Director of Infrastructure Projects. He started in this role today.

 

Chris is a proven executive leader with over 20 years’ experience successfully leading infrastructure initiatives, transportation-related economic development and policy formulation. Most recently, Chris acted as Project Director for the $4.6 billion Stage 2 LRT project in Ottawa. In that role Chris was responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the project from its conception, including, planning and mobility, procurement and funding, property acquisition, engineering and maintenance, project controls, and long-range fiscal planning. His responsibilities included the development of policies, standards, specifications related to the construction and delivery of a multi-billion capital project. This aspect of his work included preliminary engineering, asset management, alternate service delivery models, fiscal management of capital and operating budgets, contract development, and stakeholder engagement and management. As a leader of the project, Chris directly oversaw the City’s Owner’s Engineer team of approximately 150 staff, and was the face of the project at City Council, public meetings and media outlets.

 

Previously, Chris acted as Chief of Staff for the Deputy City Manager’s Office at the City of Ottawa. In this position, he was responsible for the strategic direction of several infrastructure initiatives, including the Confederation Line Stage 1 LRT project.

 

At Comtech, Chris is responsible for leading growth in Ottawa, where Comtech is opening an office, and with federal, provincial, municipal and private sector clients throughout Canada and the U.S.
