Overview
In January of 2019, Comtech was selected by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to be its Owner’s Representative in the provision of Engineering, Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC) and Commissioning Services for the successful procurement and overhaul of its new fleet of Low Floor Light Rail Vehicles (LFLRVs).
Our Services
Comtech is providing the following services to support the TTC in the procurement and overhaul of its LFLRVs:
- Carry QA/QC function to capture and document all possible deficiencies and evaluate percentage (%) of completion of cars at each stage of production
- Serve as TTC’s Representatives at original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
- Continually monitor all manufacturing activities and as appropriate, conduct comprehensive visual inspections of the ongoing production work
- Ensure that all routine vehicle and vehicle equipment/systems testing is completed in a satisfactory manner
- Support field based activities, troubleshooting and problem resolution, testing support, and failure investigations
- Complete a comprehensive final pre-delivery inspection of the vehicle to ensure the configuration is correct and that fit, finish and functionality are correct and of acceptable standards
- Development of standard operating procedures and best practices for production scheduling, industry accepted repair times, component and vehicle overhaul, vehicle reliability, quality assurance programs
- Analysis and recommendations regarding current vehicle repair methodology and interface between maintenance and transportation functions
- Review, analysis and recommendations to improve business process, organizational structure, and best practices/peer reviews
