Overview
In December of 2008, Comtech was selected by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to be its Owner’s Representative in the provision of Program Management and Controls services for the Transit City Light Rail Transit (LRT) Program. At the time, the Transit City Program was the largest transit expansion program in the City of Toronto’s history. The Transit City LRT Program was a large, complex multi-billion dollar infrastructure program to plan, design, construct and commission four (4) new LRT lines, with a planned project duration of ten (10) years.
The Program consisted of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, Sheppard East LRT, Scarborough LRT and Finch West LRT projects, as well as the supply of new LRT vehicles and related infrastructure. The program also included the design and construction of stations, facilities, terminals, operation centres, maintenance and storage facilities and transit terminals.
