Overview
An international firm was awarded an $85 million contract to construct a 10-Megawatt AC solar power generation facility in Ontario, Canada. This was the firm’s first project in Canada. The project was situated on 180 acres of farm land where two alternative photovoltaic (PV) panel designs were considered; single axis tracker or dual axis tracker. To plan, manage and execute this project, we were chosen as the firm’s local partner for engineering consulting and project management services. We were tasked to develop and propose a detailed project plan and rough order of magnitude construction cost estimate.
Our client leveraged our proposal as the basis to complete the detailed planning of the project. This included facilitating the definition and development of the project scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk management plans. Upon completion of the detailed project planning, the client proceeded to the execution/construction phase of the project. We provided Owner’s Representation during the construction phase and helped to manage the project execution, including scheduling, contract management, change order management, dispute resolution and risk mitigation.
