Overview
The Ontario Line Subway is a $10.9 billion infrastructure project led by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario, crown agencies of the Government of Ontario. Initiated in 2020, the project aims at improving Toronto's public transportation by creating a new rapid transit line connecting high-traffic density neighbourhoods.
Ontario Line spans over 15.6 km (9.7 mi) of track in tunnelled, elevated and grade-level sections, including 15 stations, six interchanges with other modes of transit (buses, LRT, streetcar and cars), passenger pick-up and drop-off areas and one maintenance and storage facility. The Ontario Line will improve transit coverage in the city by connecting communities to key destinations, increasing access to economic opportunities for people in the region and supporting Transit-Oriented Communities (TOC).
Comtech supports Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario on this project in two capacities: as a member of the Technical Advisory (since 2020) and Delivery Partner (since 2021) teams.
Starting in 2020, Comtech has been providing technical advisory consulting services, including construction management (assessments of site constructability, CAD/GIS drafting and utility relocation services), project management (project controls) and TOC advisory services, including property acquisition services, stakeholder relations and engagement.
In 2021, Comtech expanded its support to include Delivery Partner services, comprising comprehensive construction management, field representation and monitoring services to enhance project success and minimize risks during construction.
